Similar in premise to shows such as Whose Line Is It Anyway?, the series puts two teams of comedians against each other in a series of Wild 'N Out games which are all basically 'improvisational' comedy games. MTV announced the renewal of Wild 'N Out through season 16 with 90 new episodes on March 26, 2019. The ninth season premiered on June 29, 2017, and marked the series' return to filming in New York. The series features up and coming comedy stars, along with the show's current cast. In November 2012, MTV2 announced that the series would be returning in 2013 after a six-year hiatus.
